David Cleary (b.1992, Hull UK) is an artist living and working in Hull. Graduating from Leeds College of Art in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. He is also the Learning and Exhibitions Coordinator at Humber Street Gallery, Hull.
His practice uses painting, drawing and writing to produce figurative works which highlight intimacy, queerness and locality through autobiographical stories and depictions of individuals the artist encounters.
The works is centered around working class queer experiences, and attempt to understand the social systems which both bring us together and have sovereignty over what we can reveal in the perimeters of specific spaces in time.
